FEMME ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin Tribute
feat. Rachel Davis, The UNKNOWN SOLDIERS:
A Celebration Of The Doors & SPIRITWALKER
Cult Tribute @ The Railway Club,
579 Dunsmuir . Doors 9pm / $10 cover
@ the door or buy advance tickets
here
FEMME
ZEPPELIN (Led Zeppelin
Tribute featuring Rachel Davis)
- Born in LA, Rachel Davis started
playing music in front of audiences
when she was 7, busking on the
streets of Peru. In 2010 she
formed Rachel Davis And The
Banned with some friends of
considerable talent, showcasing
her powerful vocals and near
5 octave range. Don't miss her
dynamic interpretation of Led
Zeppelin classics, delivering
their essential songs with fiery
and impassioned fervour!
The
UNKNOWN SOLDIERS come
amazingly close to replicating
the music of THE DOORS note
for note while capturing their
raw energy through each band
member's interpretation, combining
to deliver a groovy reproduction
of a live Doors show that keeps
audiences in a head-bobbing,
toe-tapping trance. Their singer's
Morrison-esque look, vibe and
baritone voice combine with
swirling organs and deft musicianship
to captivate and transcend time
and place, allowing audiences
to be transported back in time
to experience a taste of live
shows that are now a part of
rock mythology. |
|
"Unknown Soldiers might just be the
city’s best cover band... bringing
a remarkable intensity to their shows,
feeding off the audience's energy
and turning each performance into
an alcohol-fueled, quasi-spiritual
journey." - Inside Vancouver
SPIRITWALKER
tap into the hard rock power and spiritual
intensity of THE CULT with a live
experience like no other. Prepare
to be transported to a universe of
shamanistic wonder and rock & roll
transcendence via a set drawn from
the band's peak years of commercial
and critical acclaim.

MOONSHINE
EXPRESS is a five piece
band that'll blow your horn.
Moonshine Express takes you
on a ride you won’t want
to end, to funky town and beyond
with an energetic musical engine
cranking out funk, hip hop,
jazz, soul and reggae grooves.
Ain't no party like a Moonshine
party!
LAMONTASAURUS
- Mixing elements of rock, funk,
country, pop and an all star
cast of members from local bands
such as The Unknown Soldiers,
Themasses, Slow Nerve Action
and Red Eye Empire, you never
know what you'll get from this
act. The brain child of keyboardist/guitarist
Ian Lamont (Jackfruit, Kill
City Kids), Lamontasaurus is
influenced by Waylon, synths,
vegetables, the weather, people,
strangeness & fuzz.
The
UNIFIED - Whether it's
jamming under shooting stars
at the beach, or disco balls
and bright lights at clubs and
private parties, The Unified
bring their danceable groove
for everyone to move to. |
The Unified have established themselves
as a live music groovefest with tight
rhythms, soaring melodies and improvisation
while always encouraging plenty of
shakin' on the dance floor!

IMU
presents
The BURNETTES Tour Kick-Off Party w/
SIX GUN ROMEO, ORCHARD PINKISH
and HIS HORNY HANDS & SWANK
@ The Fairview, 898 West Broadway
. Doors 9pm / $10 cover @ the door
or buy advance tickets here
SIX
GUN ROMEO is a melting
pot of riffs, beats, runs and
melodies taking many different
styles of music as their influences.
From the legend of Johnny Cash
to the totally hot sensation
of Imelda May, the band's sole
aim is to get you off your butt
and to throw some incredible
shapes on the dance floor.
ORCHARD
PINKISH and HIS HORNY HANDS
- Laced with witty, oft self-depreciating
interludes, the multi-talented
Orchard Pinkish (Motorama, Little
Guitar Army) has taken his heartfelt
acoustic covers from the kitchen
table to the stage. Historic
antics are sure to ensue when
Pinkish serenades the Railway
with His Horny Hands: Mike Laviolette
(Liquor Kings, Surf Messiahs)
and Richard Katynski (Gold Stars
Are For Suckers, Waltz Darling).
The
BURNETTES - Chugging
their way through hypnotic laments,
The Burnettes effortlessly recall
the glory of mid-’90s slacker
rock without sounding dated. |
|
Bringing bluesy delivery to an indie
sensibility, their music remains fresh
while paying homage to an era of honest
folk rock bands.
SWANK
delivers an unholy alliance of rock,
country, soul, gospel, blues and punk
styles that go together like moonshine
and mason jars, preaching and sinning,
Vegas and vice. A featured artist
at the 2010 Winter Olympics, their
glorious mayhem has earned them a
loyal fan base on both sides of the
Atlantic in the wake of regular hometown
shows and two memorable tours of the
UK and Ireland.

The PROVINCIAL ARCHIVE, RADIO ARRAY,
DANNY ECHO &
ECHO DYNAMIC
@ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir .
Doors 9pm / $10 cover @ the door or
buy advance tickets here
 |
The
PROVINCIAL ARCHIVE
- Fueled by a heartfelt
roots/folk/pop sensibility,
The Provincial Archive mixes
synths, banjo, accordion and
piano in a deceptively complex
way that brings to mind the
best elements of bands like
The Decemberists and The Weakerthans.
Emotional and lyrical, it's
great Canadian storytelling
with vivid lyrics that play
out like a movie before your
mind's eye.
RADIO
ARRAY is a Vancouver-based
psychedelic alt rock and folk
combo.
DANNY
ECHO reverberates with
all that is melodic, all that
is catchy and all that is rock
and roll. They've taken their
songwriting, recordings and
live shows to the next level
with smoke machines, video projections,
smoking guitars and fire extinguishers
enhancing the visual appeal
of Danny Echo gigs. Their hook-filled
tunes have been implanted in
numerous media outlets including
Cold Squad, MTV, MuchMusic,
CBC and The Peak FM.
|
ECHO
DYNAMIC - Featuring members
of ColourSurround, Century Of Distortion
and The Steve Gardiner Band, Echo
Dynamic is a genre-bending band that
ably blends post punk, shoegaze, 80s
new wave synth, progressive rock and
grunge. Ethereal, sweeping lead guitars
and keyboards complement melodic basslines
and pulsating rhythms.

The
EASY BROTHERS, INVENTING THE DINOSAUR,
OVERTIME & REMEMBER LITE-BRITE
@ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir
. Doors 9pm / $10 cover @ the door
or buy advance tickets here
The
EASY BROTHERS - Taking
the philosophies and crunchy
sounds of punk rock, chopping
them up with upbeat ska, dipping
into the heavy grooves of reggae
and shredding the occasional
rockabilly riff, The Easy Brothers
are much more than your standard,
musical one-trick-pony. One
of the hardest working underground
bands in BC, the Bros are back
with their ass-kicking yet skankable
vibes.
INVENTING
THE DINOSAUR - A garage
rock trio hailing from Vancouver,
Inventing The Dinosaur delivers
a unique spin on soft/loud dynamics
and explosive sounds while putting
new noise into songs influenced
by the raw energy of 90s grunge.
OVERTIME
- With infectious sing-along
punk harmonies and an occasional
poppy edge, Overtime play a
generous amount of fantastic
and murderous metal-punk riffs
squashed in between Beach Boy
harmonies. |
|
REMEMBER
LITE-BRITE is a pop punk rock
band with member from the Tri-cities
area. Formed in 2009 by founding members
Richard Gauthier and Timmy Scott,
they believe in fast music and good
times.
