The UNKNOWN SOLDIERS come amazingly close to replicating the music of THE DOORS note for note while capturing their raw energy through each band member's interpretation, combining to deliver a groovy reproduction of a live Doors show that keeps audiences in a head-bobbing, toe-tapping trance. Their singer's Morrison-esque look, vibe and baritone voice combine with swirling organs and deft musicianship to captivate and transcend time and place, allowing audiences to be transported back in time to experience a taste of live shows that are now a part of rock mythology!

CULT OF ZEP taps into the heavy power and spiritual intensity of two of the world's greatest classic rock bands, LED ZEPPELIN & THE CULT. Immerse yourself in an authentic hard rock experience fueled by the majesty of Zeppelin’s iconic riffs and rhythms, delivered with faithful use of alternate tunings and effects pedals. Prepare to be transported to a land of shamanistic wonder and rock transcendence with a set drawn from the The Cult's peak years of commercial and critical acclaim. Cult Of Zep is a mindblowing merger of two of Vancouver's best tribute bands, IN THE EVENING & SPIRITWALKER!

. Thursday, May 2nd IMU presents Beltaine Bacchanalia: The WYRDING WAY Album Release Party w/ LUCID AFTERLIFE, HEOFON, WOLFBROOD & MOMY FORTUNA @ The Rickshaw Theatre, 254 East Hastings St / Join the Facebook event!

Join us for a dionysian Beltaine Bacchanalia. It's a psychedelic feast for the ears and eyes with tripped out visuals, guest performers, vendors & a full costume masquerade! A mythic May Day heathen happening for everyone!

- Fusing genres and theatrical displays of music and ceremony inspired by the Vikings and Celts of Northern Europe, The Wyrding Way's shamanic sound and vision is dedicated to the positive evolution of human awareness and empowerment. Epic visuals, elaborate tribal costumes and immersive set decorations invoke the visual realms of Pink Floyd's The Wall meets Lord Of The Rings and the dark musical realms of The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Nine Inch Nails and Dead Can Dance, crafted by bouzouki, hurdy gurdy, violin and cello accompanying guitar, bass, drums and 3 voices. Named after a Norse concept for the art of weaving destiny, The Wyrding Way delivers a transformational experience like no other!

LUCID AFTERLIFE is a groove-driven, genre-bending poetry machine, drawing elements of classic rock, space rock, hip hop and spoken word to create an archetypal, eclectic sound that's heavy at times but mellow when needed. With deep, penetrating vocals, it always raises hairs when they switch to a freestyle rap jam, blowing crowds away when they realize that the whole song was spur of the moment. Lucid AfterLife consistently captivates audiences with their hypnotic, theatrical live performances, illuminating the stage and studio with an ever changing arrangement of musicians.

HEOFON - An Old English word for Heaven, Heofon is a creative hybrid of post-rock and mystic prog inspired by dreams, nature and tapping into what’s beyond the physical realm while finding new ways to express it. An immersive journey in sound, their music incorporates didgeridoo, cello, flute, synths and throat singing alongside electric and acoustic guitars, bass, drums and percussion. Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, Heofon's live shows are enhanced by mettamorphs, animated digital paintings that create a multi-layered sensory experience when paired with music.

WOLFBROOD calls you back to another time, when the creaking timbers of longships bore fierce-visaged warriors to battle on foreign shores in bitter clashes of steel on steel. Singing of the fates of men long gone and cultures long since forgotten, this grim band of musical warriors plays folk instruments in a style that could be described as Viking saga rock or Norse power folk. The songs have been ringing through remote mountaintops and forest ravines for many years, heard from a distant cross-breeze over accordion, fiddle and hand drums. Hail to the Wolf Clan!

MOMY FORTUNA - Named after the witch in The Last Unicorn, Momy Fortuna is the musical creation of Brandy Bones who cut her teeth touring internationally with Big John Bates, and leads the group with absinthe-stained wails, electric bass and other beaten and plucked instruments. Their lucid sonic atmosphere incorporates haunting vocals and keyboards, Gregorian chanting, horror score violin and tribal drums over romantically melancholy dark wave, flowing ambient, neoclassical and ritual pagan sounds.
