. Saturday, August 15th IMU presents FEEL GOOD HITS Queens Of The Stone Age Tribute, SUCH SAVAGES, ROBOTSANDGODS, ICE CREAM & SHADOWS CAST @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir . Show 9pm / $10 cover

FEEL GOOD HITS pay homage to Queens Of The Stone Age, playing blistering tunes that explode like depth charges in the night. QOTSA's visceral, fist-pumping sludge rock is a powerful combination of bullseye downstrokes and drumbeats backing gasoline-drenched jams culminating in grandiose, unbelievably catchy songs.

ROBOTSANDGODS - Formed by veterans of the local music scene (ColourSurround, Saudaji, Search Party), robotsandgods is a new rock band with melodic, original songs, pulsating rhythms and synth textures. They are currently in the studio working on their debut album with producer/engineer Elisa Pangsaeng (Kinnie Starr, Said the Whale, The Zolas).

SUCH SAVAGES - Playing alternative blues with a touch of stoner rock, Such Savages came together to take on the world!

ICE CREAM - A melting pot of dirty, fuzzy, slightly sloppy rock n’ roll, Ice Cream will delight anyone with even a passing interest in garage rock. With influences including The Orwells, White Stripes, Link Wray and Pavement, their music is a raucous ode to all those bad influence friends in your life who are just too fun to quit.

SHADOWS CAST
- From dark and dreamy melodies to driven rhythmic jams, Shadows Cast is a two piece multi-instrumental band from Haida Gwaii. This dynamic duo will take you on an intimate sonic trip through the shadows into light via original songs that are heavily inspired by their majestic local landscape.

. Friday, August 21st IMU presents The FOOD, The PSYCHIC ALLIANCE, KOWNTERPOINT & The HIT @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir . Show 9:30pm / $10 cover

KOWNTERPOINT - This unstoppable power trio aims to please just about anyone, blending genres including reggae, psychedelic, classic rock, blues, funk, jazz, punk, ska, rockabilly, surf, hip hop and a few others! Whether it be moshing to a raging punk song, grooving to a solid reggae/hip hop beat, skanking to some sweet ska sounds or stomping to some rockabilly, Kownterpoint always impresses with their spontaneous, no limits, music-loving approach.

The FOOD is a 12-piece weirdo soul band. Warning: some food may have been harmed in the creation of their songs.

The PSYCHIC ALLIANCE - The less you know about this band, the better. Rumor has it that they're very bad people, misanthropic, cruel to animals, frequently given to melancholy, and intellectual dullards to boot. Stories of vicious infighting and rampant substance abuse follow them like a black cloud, and the threat of immediate collapse is constant. Fortunately they look cool.

The HIT is a trio that plays a mix of reggae, ska and soulful, funky rock, including tunes by Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, The Band and vintage ZZ Top.

The WALK-INS have conspired together to create a new musical concoction that seems strangely familiar yet somehow alien. The 3 a.m. is a new blues rockabilly trio formed by Eric, Brendan & Blair, 3 current members of The Walk-Ins!

The ELEVEN TWELVES - Full of fuzzy guitar riffs, soaring harmonies, manic drumming and vintage transistor organ, The Eleven Twelves specialize in playing '60s garage-rock. With a focus on the legendary NUGGETS compilations, they also play obscure gems and one hit wonders from the psychedelic era, capturing the raw energy and youthful spirit of the bands that influenced a generation.

WHITE BLOOD CELLS is a Vancouver-based tribute to The White Stripes, one of the leading bands of the post-2000 garage rock revival.
